An interview with Hayel Abu Hamdan - Chief Operating Officer - Hantec Markets
1. Where is your company from, how long is in the market and on which markets it covers?
[Hayel Abu Hamdan] The Hantec group was established in 1990 in Hong Kong. Hantec Markets Limited and Hantec Markets Australia are members of the Hantec Group. The Hantec Group has undergone dynamic expansion by extending its network from China to Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and now Europe. Hantec Market Limited is a UK based Forex broker offering a 24-hour FX trading service to a global retail and institutional client base.
2. Are you entering Czech Market with partnership with other more established brokers or individually/independently?
[Hayel Abu Hamdan] We are entering the Czech market independently but we are always seeking to establish our presence and grow our market share through partnerships around the world. We will therefore be looking to set up strategic alliances with suitable partners in the Czech market.
3. As you are a FOREX broker. Do you offer any other financial products than FX, such as commodities, shares or indexes?
[Hayel Abu Hamdan] At present our offering includes Forex trading on 50 pairs plus Bullion trading on Gold and Silver. In the next few months we will be expanding our offering to include CFD trading on oil as well as stock indices and commodities.
4. In recent years, the number of Forex brokers on the Czech market greatly expanded, so the competition is certainly strong. How do you want get clients interested? What are your strengths?

5. Will you allow clients to trade in the Czech koruna, or only in foreign currencies? What is the minimum deposit required to open a trading account? And on what traders you want to focus on? Retail or institutional investors?
[Hayel Abu Hamdan] As part of the fifty currency pairs we offer our clients the opportunity to trade USDCZK and EURCZK. The minimum requirement to open an account at Hantec is €250. We cater to both retail and institutional clients. Our trading platforms include Metatrader 4 (MT4), the world’s leading online Forex (FX) trading platform, and Currenex, the leading liquidity provider to financial institutions.
6. Are you a market maker or STP or ECN broker?
[Hayel Abu Hamdan] We are an STP broker and an ECN broker. All orders are straight through processed. We do not run any positions at Hantec. We offer a non-dealing desk execution service. No Dealing Desk Execution on all Forex trades eliminates dealer intervention. So it provides you with transparent, fair execution as well as reducing the potential for market interference by price providers and dealers. It also means we are able to stream the most competitive FX spreads by the world’s largest banks and financial institutions straight to our clients.
7. With regards to the quality of customer service brokers often talk about added value, such as a personal approach, educating clients and quality support. What about your company?
[Hayel Abu Hamdan] While every Forex company claims excellent support, we actually mean it. It’s in our ethos and is a central plank of our business philosophy. 8. FOREX is recently very popular tool for trading, but offers high risks. Most traders lose all of their money invested. What is the ratio of profitable and unprofitable traders in your company?
[Hayel Abu Hamdan] Forex is a leveraged product and involves significant risk of loss. Traders who over leverage themselves will ultimately lose money. Forex does carry risk, similar to most other financial products. The high risk factor is due to the fact that traders over expose themselves by trading on too high a leverage.
9. You are writing that Hantec is an STP, ECN broker. It is true that ECN brokers in CZ or SK does not exist yet as they charge a minimal fee (albeit often have nearly zero spreads, and it may be advantageous in the end). Do you allow the clients in CZ to choose if they want to operate under STP or ECN?
[Hayel Abu Hamdan] Clients can choose to trade on the MT4 platform and their orders are executed on an STP basis as we operate a non-dealing desk model. They also have the choice to trade on our two ECN Currenex platforms.
10. As an ECN – will you be charging fees? And what are the fees?
[Hayel Abu Hamdan] Our feed on ECN range from $20 to $50 per million traded depending on trading volumes.
11. In this regard, that you operate in several countries around the world - are there some differences between countries with regards to the success traders and also their preference forindividual investment instruments – currency pairs?
[Hayel Abu Hamdan] Not really. But what we have noticed is the growth in automated system trading. Trading systems are becoming more and more sophisticated and we have seen some systems producing excellent results.
12. As for the customer support – can the clients in CZ communicate in CZ language?
[Hayel Abu Hamdan] Absolutely. Our customer support team is multi lingual and covers 15 languages in order to server our growing global client base.
