I recently went to Beijing for the opening ceremony of the entry of Hantec Markets into the Asian market. The event was attended by a number of local forex exchange counterparties, journalists and high net worth clients. It was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Chaoyang district of the city and was extremely well organised, with a ceremonial ribbon cutting and toast for the opening, before a number of speeches and a roundtable Q&A.
Of the speakers, Professor Liu Cheng, from Beijing Technology University who is an advisor to the Peoples’ Bank of China, was first up and gave a speech about the economic prospects for 2017. Then the Chief Executive of Risk Management from Hantec Group, Lawrie Ng, spoke about what we have learnt following the Swiss National Bank Event. I then gave my speech about Donald Trump and the risks and opportunities for 2017. The Q&A session afterwards was very much focused on the direction of the Chinese yuan exchange rate, and the impact that Donald Trump could have on China.
Below is a picture gallery of the event.
